Himalayan kingdom by trekking, as it has earned the reputation as
a trekker’s paradise.
Trekking is the best way to get to interesting and renote mountain
villagers of Nepal to enjoy views of the famous
peals together with the lifestyle untouched by modern civilization.
The Annapurna region including the Annapurna sanctuary, Jomsom trek
and Annapurna circuit have breathtaking
views and the lodges hare delicious food and scummy apple pie. There
are several Buddhist monasteries.
The Kali Gandaki gorge is the world. Trekkers inspire to cross the
Thorung La pass at 5416 meters.
Mount Everest (Sagarmatha) with its dramatic and stunning fair valleys.
The traditional treks start from Jiri taking
more or less seven days to Namche Bazaar. There are several idyllic
Sherpa village and Buddhist monasteries.
The most famous Everest monastery is Tenboche. Golden Eagles can be
seen hunting in pairs. Impeyan pheasants,
the national bird of Nepal can be spotted in the Khumbu fields. Conifers
sprawl the landscape.
For botanist lovers alpine flower are eye catching. Gokyo Ri valley
with turquoise lakes and harsh mountain topography.
Trekkers like to climb Gokyo Ri at 5,483 meters to see the panorama
of summits trekking over the glacier below.
Since 1953 Sir Edmund Hilary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa reached the
summit of Mt. Everest at 8,850meters,
climbing via the Southeast ridge, more than 1,000 mountaineers have
climbed the highest mountain in the world.
The Langtang and Helambu
treks are luckily close to Kathmandu. Many Hindus pilgrims visit sacred
Gosain Kunda
during the full-moon festival in August. There are Tibetans living
in Langtang and Sherpa residing in Helambu.
Wildflowers bloom in the monsoon and in Helambu there are beautiful
old rhododendrons and Fir Oaks.
There are wonderful mountain landscapes.
Annually there are some100, 000 trekkers in Nepal. Apart from the
three most popular treks of Annapurna, Everest,
Langtang and Helambu there are several other interesting and fascinating
treks. The Arun Valley, Makalu Base Camp
and Kanchanjunga Base Cano in Eastern Nepal. In Western Nepal there
are treks in Dolpa, including the turquoise
